Baseball Recap: Vero Beach Takes Down Centennial in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Vero Beach had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Centennial Eagles 3-2 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Vero Beach got a great performance from Sebastian Dimitroff as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Dimitroff has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Vero Beach's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Garret Srigley, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Vero Beach's record is now 24-1. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

As of now, neither Vero Beach nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
