Softball Game Preview: Southeast Halifax Trojans vs. Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars

For the second straight game, Southeast Halifax will face off against Rocky Mount Prep. Southeast Halifax is taking a road trip to challenge Rocky Mount Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southeast Halifax knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Rocky Mount Prep likes a good challenge.

Southeast Halifax took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Rocky Mount Prep 25-10. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Trojans this season.

Ta'Nauriah Johnson was a standout: she scored four runs and stole eight bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Amari Jackson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing seven bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Southeast Halifax's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 21.6 runs this season. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
