Preview: Olive Branch Conquistadors vs. Grenada Chargers
After two games on the road, Olive Branch is heading back home. They will take on the Grenada Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Olive Branch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 360 points over their last five contests.
Olive Branch put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Saltillo 90-66. 90 seems to be a good number for Olive Branch as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Grenada strolled past South Panola with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 63-47.
Grenada's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jarques Perry, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds, and Caleb Howard, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Perry hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Kelton Jones was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Olive Branch's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.1 points per game. As for Grenada, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
Everything came up roses for Olive Branch against Grenada when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 88-61 victory. Will Olive Branch repeat their success, or does Grenada have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
