Soccer Game Preview: Sierra vs. Widefield + How To Watch

The Sierra Stallions will challenge the Widefield Gladiators at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sierra's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Sierra fell victim to The Classical Academy and their airtight defense last Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Titans. While losing is never fun, Sierra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 217th, while The Classical Academy are ranked 66th).

Meanwhile, Widefield hadn't done well against Mesa Ridge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Gladiators had just enough and edged out the Grizzlies 3-2.

Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Widefield, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7-1.

Sierra might still be hurting after the 11-2 defeat they got from Widefield in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Stallions were down 7-1.
