Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wayne). They managed a 77-71 victory over the Panguitch Bobcats on Tuesday. This was payback for the Badgers, who suffered a 52-36 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Wayne found their leader in sophomore AJ VanDyke, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. The matchup was VanDyke's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Makayla Jones, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.

Wayne was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tayt Miller, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Miller a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Henrie, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards.

Wayne pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Panguitch, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.

Wayne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-36 victory against Bryce Valley on the 30th. As for Panguitch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-30 win against Piute on the 30th.
