Clearwater Central Catholic scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Shorecrest Prep Chargers by a score of 11-10. The Marauders just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Zach Wheeler was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Matthew Covello and Luke Brkljacic stepped up to the plate in a big way. Covello scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Brkljacic scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Covello a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jamie Vann, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

Even though they lost, Clearwater Central Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
