Softball Recap: Downingtown West Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Downingtown West won the last time they faced East and things went their way on Thursday too. The Whippets came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 5-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Addison Carter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ava Kaczmarski was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.

Downingtown West has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for East, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5.
