Basketball Recap: Crawford Takes a Loss

Crawford was the 46-36 winner over Hemingford when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Crawford Rams came up short against the Hemingford Bobcats on Saturday, falling 65-44. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Crawford lost, don't look at Taylor Homan. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. That was a full 43.2% of Crawford's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abisai Munoz-Salazar, who earned six points and 12 boards.

Crawford now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Hemingford, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Crawford will venture away from home to take on Hyannis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hemingford, they will challenge Cody-Kilgore on Tuesday.
