Basketball Game Preview: MACCRAY Wolverines vs. Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks

MACCRAY is 1-9 against Dawson-Boyd since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The MACCRAY Wolverines will venture away from home to square off against the Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

MACCRAY is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-60 heartbreaker at the hands of Ortonville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Wolverines still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Dawson-Boyd entered their tilt with Pipestone on Monday with seven consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with eight. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Arrows 75-44. Given the Blackjacks' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Arrows are ranked 178th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dawson-Boyd's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 91.7 points over those games. As for MACCRAY, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.

MACCRAY was taken down by Dawson-Boyd 105-34 in their previous matchup back in January. Can MACCRAY avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
