Softball Recap: Anderson County Find Success

Anderson County saw some tournament action on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels 7-6. That's two games straight that the Mavericks have won by just one run.

Bella Brummit was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Maci Benge also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Anderson County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .342 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Anderson County's record now sits at 16-9. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12-1.

Coming up, Anderson County will square off against Clinton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, they will face off against Union City at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
