Minford came into Monday's contest looking for another win against Waverly, but Kage Alexander wouldn't allow it. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 win over the Falcons on Monday with plenty of help from Alexander, who shot 41% from the field en route to 23 points and five boards. His big performance that evening made it 18 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Another player making a difference was Davion McBride, who posted four points and five rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played.

Waverly's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Minford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Waverly has already played their next matchup, a 57-50 win against Eastern on the 10th. As for Minford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
