Volleyball Recap: Northwest Whitfield Takes a Loss

Northwest Whitfield was the 2-1 winner over Heritage when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Bruins took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals on Tuesday. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jenna Quinn paced Northwest Whitfield's offense, picking up four kills. Quinn got some help from Megan Torbett and her seven assists. Torbett was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Northwest Whitfield's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Heritage, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 6-8 record.

Northwest Whitfield has already played their next game (against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. After both having extra time off, Heritage and Adairsville will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on September 4.
