Basketball Recap: Canyon Springs Comes Up Short

If Canyon Springs was riding high fresh off their 103-53 takedown of Pinecrest Academy Cadence last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Canyon Springs Pioneers fell 80-67 to the Palo Verde Panthers on Wednesday. The Pioneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 51-48.

Canyon Springs has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points over those games. As for Palo Verde, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
