Softball Recap: Lumberton Has No Trouble Against Jack Britt

Lumberton barely beat Jack Britt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates put the hurt on the Buccaneers with a sharp 12-4 win on Tuesday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Norah Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaelyn Hammond, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Kinsley Martin was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple and one run.

Lumberton now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Jack Britt, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 8-7.
