Basketball Recap: Miami East Vikings vs. Fort Loramie Redskins
Miami East unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 49-30 fall against the Fort Loramie Redskins on Friday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redskins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Miami East lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Katie Paulus, who scored seven points plus five assists and five steals. Those five assists gave Paulus a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Long, who scored six points.
Miami East will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Northridge at 12:30 p.m. As for Fort Loramie, they will head out on the road to face off against Houston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Loramie will be looking to extend their current 16-game winning streak dating back to last season.
