Football Recap: Plainfield East Skates Past De La Salle with Ease + How To Watch

A well-balanced attack led Plainfield East over De La Salle in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bengals blew the Meteors out of the water with a 55-0 final score. The Bengals pushed the score to 49-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Meteors had no chance of recovering from.

David Croom had a dynamite game, rushing for 208 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 90 yards. Josiah Wilcox was in the mix as well, providing Plainfield East with one score.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Camren Smith, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Plainfield East has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 point this season. As for De La Salle, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainfield East will face off against Joliet Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Bengals their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for De La Salle, they will square off against Benet Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
