Softball Recap: George West Comes Up Short

George West managed to slip by Mathis the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Longhorns lost 12-2 to the Pirates on Tuesday. The Longhorns were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

George West dropped their record down to 4-15 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Mathis, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. George West is set to face off against their familiar foe Taft at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Mathis will challenge rival West Oso at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
