Boyd County waltzed into their matchup  on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with  a   6-3  victory over the Bowling Green Bobcats.
 Brooke Jacobs made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Elyn Simpkins, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4. She has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Kyli Kouns, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Boyd County's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 9-3. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bowling Green,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
