Harmon had lost eight straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 3-18 to make it nine. They came up short against the Maranatha Christian Academy Eagles, falling 20-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-4 on Wednesday.
Isai Munoz Machado made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Chad Taylor, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
As for Maranatha Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-15. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Maranatha Christian Academy's side, Anthony Salvant looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Salvant posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Nolan O'Hara was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Maranatha Christian Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-14 otherwise. Auden Smail was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Looking ahead, Harmon will be playing in front of their home fans against Schlagle at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Stallions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.9 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Maranatha Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
