Softball Recap: Astoria Fishermen vs. Tillamook Cheesemakers
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Astoria). Everything went their way against the Tillamook Cheesemakers on Thursday as they made off with a 22-9 victory. With that win, the Fishermen brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.
Astoria got a massive performance out of Hailey Svensen, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Svensen has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kya Lindell, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 5-for-5.
Astoria always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .689. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
