The Interlake Saints will face off against the Renton Red Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Interlake's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Renton has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
On Wednesday, Interlake made easy work of Highline and carried off a 15-5 victory. Considering the Saints have won eight games by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lizzy Thompsen made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Dorah Wang was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Madeline Knight was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Interlake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highline only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Renton scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Lindbergh, falling 26-11. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (ten), the Red Hawks still had to take the loss.
Mayliahna Pitoau made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Richards, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Renton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Interlake, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Interlake hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Renton struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Interlake took their victory against Renton in their previous matchup on Saturday by a conclusive 22-5 score. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Red Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
