Basketball Game Preview: Boyd Christian Broncos vs. Lexington Christian Eagles

The Boyd Christian Broncos and the Lexington Christian Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 2:35 p.m. on Friday. Boyd Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.

Boyd Christian is headed into Friday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They took a blow against Watertown last Monday, falling 60-31. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Purple Tigers are ranked 41st).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kelly Bush, who posted eight points and six rebounds. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Brooke Kesey was another key player, putting up 13 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Boyd Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, everything went Lexington Christian's way against East Jessamine on Saturday as Lexington Christian made off with a 68-44 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 24 points or more this season.

Boyd Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Lexington Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
