Basketball Recap: Crestview Comes Up Short

After flying high against Marianna on Monday, Crestview came back down to earth. The Bulldogs took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gulf Breeze Dolphins on Thursday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dolphins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Crestview lost, don't look at Jeremiah Blackwell. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points. Blackwell continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jre Bufford, who scored 11 points.

Crestview's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Gulf Breeze, they pushed their record up to 3-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Crestview will welcome Choctawhatchee at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gulf Breeze, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-53 victory against Pace on the 5th.
