Volleyball Recap: Nuiqsut Trapper Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Kali

Nuiqsut Trapper faced Kali in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Trappers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines. The Trappers haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Nuiqsut Trapper started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-11, 25-19, 25-21.

Nuiqsut Trapper's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Kali, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Nuiqsut Trapper and Kali will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Trappers see the court they'll take on Tikigaq on November 1. As for Kali, their break will end when they face Alak on November 7.
