Baseball Recap: Camden Gets the Win

Camden got themselves on the board against Vernon-Verona-Sherrill on Thursday, but Vernon-Verona-Sherrill never followed suit. They came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 5-0. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Andrew Joyce, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Vernon-Verona-Sherrill off the board. Joyce also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Camden is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Caden Grygiel was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Evan Gonzalez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Camden now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Camden is set to square off against their familiar foe Oneida at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill will challenge rival New Hartford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
