Softball Recap: Apex Takes a Loss

Apex lost against Roxboro Community back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Apex lost 16-9 to Roxboro Community. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leah Kendall was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing six bases while going 2-for-3. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Maggie Austin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Apex's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Roxboro Community, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Apex is taking a road trip to challenge Middle Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roxboro Community, they will take on Falls Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
