Softball Recap: St. Vincent-St. Mary Find Success

Norwayne typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday St. Vincent-St. Mary proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 7-2.

Kate Krabill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ella Kim was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Avarie Mays was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

St. Vincent-St. Mary is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Norwayne, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-4.

Looking ahead, St. Vincent-St. Mary will host Streetsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norwayne, they are taking a road trip to take on Dalton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
