Softball Recap: Rolling Meadows Comes Up Short

After flying high against Harvest Christian Academy on Tuesday, Rolling Meadows came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell just short of the Schaumburg Saxons by a score of 12-10 on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Saxons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Caylee Del Boccio made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Ferguson, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Rolling Meadows' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Schaumburg, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4.

Rolling Meadows has already played their next game, a 13-1 defeat against Barrington on the 17th. As for Schaumburg, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-2 loss against Hersey on the 17th.
