Fort Defiance is 9-1 against Rockbridge County since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Fort Defiance is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

On Friday, Fort Defiance made easy work of Buffalo Gap and carried off an 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Rockbridge County suffered their closest loss since April 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of William Monroe by a score of 11-9.

Kayleigh Rosson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Bella Dorey also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Fort Defiance's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Rockbridge County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Everything went Fort Defiance's way against Rockbridge County in their previous meeting back in April, as Fort Defiance made off with a 9-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
