Basketball Game Preview: Treynor Cardinals vs. Tri-Center Trojans

Treynor is 9-1 against Tri-Center since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Treynor Cardinals will host the Tri-Center Trojans. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Treynor took a 26-point defeat the last time they faced off against Riverside, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Treynor narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Riverside 51-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since February 8, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tri-Center). They walked away with a 57-50 win over Logan-Magnolia on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Treynor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30 points. As for Tri-Center, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Everything came up roses for Treynor against Tri-Center in their previous matchup last Friday, as the squad secured a 48-13 win. Does Treynor have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tri-Center turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
