Baseball Game Preview: Wilson Bulldogs vs. Parkland Trojans

Wilson is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Parkland is on a seven-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Bulldogs will welcome the Trojans at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Wilson 2.5, Parkland 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Wednesday, Wilson was able to grind out a solid win over Exeter Township, taking the game 6-1. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Christo Hunsicker, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Marmolejos, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Parkland never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Emmaus 1-0. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by just one run.

The result came thanks to Nathan Unger's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Parkland's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ben Weninger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Wilson's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Parkland, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
