Soccer Recap: Riverbend Academy Starts off Right with Win over Calvary Christian Academy

Riverbend Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the Calvary Christian Academy Lions on Monday. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 7-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Their offense was hitting Calvary Christian Academy from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Keeton Clegg led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Riverbend Academy will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against Southland Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-2 loss against Polk Christian Prep on the 4th.
