Basketball Recap: Emma Krogh's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kamiah over Lapwai

Kamiah lost against Lapwai last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Kamiah Kubs lost 62-40 to the Lapwai Wildcats.

Kamiah's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Krogh, who posted 18 points. Krogh's evening made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Kelsee Hunt, who had 12 points.

Lapwai got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Skylin Picard out in front who shot 4-for-6 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Picard a new career-high in rebounds. Amasone George was another key player, going 6-for-10 on her way to 13 points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Kamiah's defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Lapwai, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Kamiah nor Lapwai have any future games scheduled.
