Softball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 21-20 heartbreaker at the hands of the Africentric Early College Nubians. Even if the 76ers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Africentric Early College, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Independence will take on rival South at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Africentric Early College is set to challenge their familiar foe Briggs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
