Basketball Recap: Miamisburg Drops Highest Score of Season Against West Carrollton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Miamisburg). They strolled past the West Carrollton Pirates with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 57-42. The Vikings pushed the score to 47-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates cut but never quite recovered from.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stephanie Gandy, who went 10 of 19 on her way to 18 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cydney Grisby, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

The win got Miamisburg back to even at 2-2. As for West Carrollton, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Miamisburg will face off against Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Carrollton, they will square off against Sidney at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sidney will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something West Carrollton surely won't give up without a fight.
