Baseball Game Preview: DuBois Beavers vs. Punxsutawney Chucks

The DuBois Beavers will venture away from home to square off against the Punxsutawney Chucks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. DuBois' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Punxsutawney's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

DuBois is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Altoona just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountain Lions.

DuBois got a good showing from Alex Sago, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sago has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Punxsutawney sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Moniteau on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chucks.

The team relied heavily on Maddox Hetrick, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

DuBois' loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Punxsutawney, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. DuBois has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Punxsutawney struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

DuBois skirted past Punxsutawney 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
