Softball Recap: Wilmot Panthers vs. Kenosha Tremper Trojans
Wilmot extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 3-15 in the process. They came up short against the Kenosha Tremper Trojans, falling 15-5. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 17-1 to the Trojans when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Sarah Josko and Savannah Walshire did some serious damage despite the final result: Josko went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles, while Walshire went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Ivy Deckert was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
As for Kenosha Tremper, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 10th (when they won 13-0).
On Kenosha Tremper's side, Ava DeBartolo was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits DeBartolo has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Rocha, who went 3-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases.
Wilmot wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-4 loss against Westosha Central on the 9th. As for Kenosha Tremper, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-3 victory against Indian Trail on the 8th.
