Volleyball Recap: Wahoo Falls to Aurora in First Game of Season

Wahoo unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Aurora Huskies by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Wahoo sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 25-19.

When it comes to explaining why Wahoo lost, don't look at Elena Estudillo. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and five assists. Estudillo has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 12 times she's played.

Leading Aurora to victory were Trinity Uhrmacher and Ava Myers. Uhrmacher had 23 digs and two assists, while Myers had nine digs. Those nine digs gave Myers a new career-high.

Coincidentally, Wahoo and Aurora will both be playing Norris the next time they take the court. The Huskies will head out to face the Titans on Thursday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
