Baseball Recap: Stafford Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Stafford and Giddings squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Stafford had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 4-3. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Dana Williams was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Stafford's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Giddings, their record is now 12-10-1.

While Stafford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
