Basketball Recap: Lake Worth Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Landen Harwood and Chase Troncale

Lake Worth Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 68-58 to the King's Academy Lions. The Defenders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in December of 2018.

Lake Worth Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Chase Troncale and Landen Harwood. Troncale went 11 of 22 on his way to 26 points and seven rebounds, while Harwood almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. That was a full 41.4% of Lake Worth Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Gallo, who earned six points and five boards.

King's Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Javian Jones, who went 6 for 15 en route to 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. What's more, Jones also racked up five steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Isaiah McCoy, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

Lake Worth Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for King's Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Lake Worth Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 97-49 win against Berean Christian on the 23rd. King's Academy has also already played their next contest, a 50-47 victory against John Carroll Catholic on the 23rd.
