Softball Recap: Sentinel Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Butte

Sentinel faced Butte in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Spartans fell 7-4 to the Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 7-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Makenna Thorson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Sentinel now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Butte, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Sentinel wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 15-1 win against Flathead on the 8th. As for Butte, they have also already played their next game, a 7-6 defeat against Helena on the 10th.
