Basketball Recap: Pontotoc Takes a Loss

Pontotoc lost against New Hope back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pontotoc Warriors took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Hope Trojans. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly four points.

Pontotoc's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-7. As for New Hope, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Pontotoc will be taking part in a tournament against Lewisburg at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Hope, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Holmes County Central on December 28th.
