Baseball Recap: Plano Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Plano had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Serena Huskers on Friday. The Reapers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Huskers, too.

Braylon Schmidt tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Plano saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Phillips, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Another was Jake Dixon, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-10. As for Serena, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Plano will take on Woodstock North at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Serena, they will square off against Seneca at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
