Football Recap: Clever Finds Playoff Glory Versus Pleasant Hope/Halfway

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Clever walked away with it. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-0 win over Pleasant Hope/Halfway. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Blue Jays' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Clever's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Quintin Lemmer, who rushed for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. Lemmer's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. Brayden Baker was another key passer, throwing for 122 yards and four TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Clever is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points on average over those games. As for Pleasant Hope/Halfway, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Clever will take on St. James at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. Pleasant Hope/Halfway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
