Baseball Game Preview: Goodrich Martians vs. Clio Mustangs

For the second straight game, Goodrich will face off against Clio. The Martians will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Goodrich's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Clio has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Monday, Goodrich made easy work of Clio and carried off a 9-3 victory. Considering the Martians have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Parker Pannell made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Goodrich got a massive performance out of Scott Pethers, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Pethers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nate Gould, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Clio's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Goodrich, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
