For the first time ever, Rickey Johnson turned in triple-digit rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns, but sadly Independence still had to take a 24-14 loss at the hands of Bakersfield Christian. We marked that as the best effort he's had all season, even better than his performance on August 22nd (when he rushed for 60 yards and one score, and also picked up 41 receiving yards) (Gamescore: 32.55 vs. 21.8666666666667).

Coming up, Johnson and Independence will face off against Bakersfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Johnson will face off against Damir Lomax, the Drillers' star RB.
