Soccer Recap: Smithfield-Selma Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Thursday just wasn't the day for Smithfield-Selma's offense. They came up short against the Fuquay - Varina Bengals on Thursday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Smithfield-Selma can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Fuquay - Varina are ranked 153rd).

Smithfield-Selma's loss dropped their record down to 6-8-2. As for Fuquay - Varina, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Smithfield-Selma will face off against Clayton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Clayton will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Smithfield-Selma surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fuquay - Varina, they will take on Southeast Raleigh at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Fuquay - Varina are facing Southeast Raleigh at the right time seeing as Southeast Raleigh are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
