Softball Recap: Minnewaska Area Takes a Loss

Minnewaska Area made up a huge gap compared to their last game against West Central Area, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lakers fell just short of the Knights by a score of 9-7 on Tuesday. The Lakers have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Haillie Schulz led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Berlynn Green, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Minnewaska Area's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for West Central Area, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Coming up, Minnewaska Area will venture away from home to take on Osakis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Central Area, they will welcome Sauk Centre at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
