Baseball Recap: Don Lugo Comes Up Short

Don Lugo lost against Alta Loma back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Don Lugo Conquistadores took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alta Loma Braves. The Conquistadores have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bryan Scott and Jaden Burillo stepped up to the plate in a big way. Scott went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Burillo scored three runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, Burillo posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Javier Guzman was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Don Lugo's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Alta Loma, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Don Lugo will head out to face off against Montclair at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Alta Loma, they are taking a road trip to square off against Colony at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Colony is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
