Baseball Recap: Henderson County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hancock County on Monday, Henderson County came back down to earth. The Colonels came up short against the University Heights Blazers on Thursday, falling 9-1. The Colonels have struggled against the Blazers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Henderson County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Evans, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Evans has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Henderson County's defeat dropped their record down to 20-11. As for University Heights, they pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Henderson County will head out to face off against Breckinridge County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for University Heights, they will face off against Ryle at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blazers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
